GHG Architects is where I gained my first real world exposure to the practice and insight into how a small firm operates. I enjoyed the people and accrued an indispensable knowledge about the discipline. Working for this well established residential firm had fortified my understanding of residential wood framing and the elements that go into creating a home. When the time came I would decide to go in a different direction but would always carry this knowledge with me.

An Architect's' knowledge will reach across a spectrum incorporating the trades, practices, techniques, and ethical conduct among other things. Working at GHG Architects molded my understanding of the practice a juxtaposition to that of my schooling at SUNY Buffalo. I had entered a new realm involved in the approval process, town zoning, state code and personal fiscal allowances. My time spent taking existing measurements and creating construction documents imposed on me the real world application. The experience fortified my understanding of residential wood framing and the elements that go into creating a home.
